Mold Problems...allergy, malaise

The number of people who are seeking treatment for Mold Toxin Illness (CIRS) is staggering.

Given that 50% of homes/buildings in the US have some kind of water damage, it should not come as surprise that people are becoming ill.

It's a silent epidemic that continues to be ignored and misunderstood

This has become a common diagnosis our integrative health clinic. Most patients fall into one of three categories: they have already been diagnosed, they have documented exposures, or they have no idea—but they present with all the classic symptoms of mold toxin illness.

Unfortunately, these patients are often blown off. In many circles, this is still considered a "fringe" diagnosis. But the scientific data supporting it is extremely strong, and the scale of the problem is undeniable.

Look at the numbers we are ignoring:

➡️The "Coin Flip" Risk According to NIOSH and EPA data, approximately 50% of U.S. buildings have a history of water damage. That means statistically, half the buildings you enter—your office, your child's school, your home—are potentially compromised.

➡️The Daily Toll This isn't a "once in a lifetime" event. 14,000 people every single day in the U.S. experience a water damage emergency at home or work. That is 14,000 new biological incubators created every 24 hours.

➡️The Engineering Trap ("Tight Building Syndrome") We created this problem. In our quest for energy efficiency, modern construction seals air in. While this saves heat, it also traps biological toxins with the occupants. We are essentially living in airtight boxes that recirculate mycotoxins (0.1 microns in size)—particles so small they bypass standard filters and enter your bloodstream.

Our strategy in treatment is to take a Physics-Based Approach to Mold Toxin Illness because standard functional approaches with binders and supplements are often not enough. The focus is on the improving the bio-physics of the cell—restoring voltage and opening drainage pathways—which allows us to mobilize toxins that chemical approaches miss. This can work seamlessly with functional medicine protocolls and is yielding significant improvement in patient's symptoms.

The first step to treating is getting the building or home you lived in checked for mold using specialized testing and then seeing specialists who are familiar with the syndrome and can offer real help.

Tomorrow I’m posting a white paper discussing the extent of the environmental crisis, what testing is required to accurately assess homes and buildings and steps people can take to address it.

Have you experienced health related issues related mold exposure? How did you address them?
