AMA and MAG to host EHR Town Hall on July 20 - gmlevinmd@gmail.com - Gmail

AMA and MAG to host EHR Town Hall on July 20

On July 20 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (EDT), the AMA and the Medical Association of Georgia (MAG) will be hosting a town hall meeting in Atlanta to discuss electronic health records (EHR), featuring Rep. Tom Price, MD (GA-6), and AMA President Steven J. Stack, MD. This event is being held for physicians who have concerns about EHRs with Stage 3 Meaningful Use regulations potentially looming just around the corner. Physicians across the country will be able to watch live online and join the conversation on Twitter.
Meaningful Use is not working, but bureaucrats in Washington, D.C., still want to move forward with Stage 3 implementation. That could mean less time with patients, less practice innovation and costly penalties if physicians do not comply. Currently, physician participation in Meaningful Use Stage 2 sits at less than 10 percent, compared to 80 percent adoption of EHRs.
Please join the AMA and MAG for a conversation with Rep. Price as well as national and local physician leaders about EHRs, the potential consequences of Meaningful Use Stage 3 and what you can do to stop it. This event will be streamed live online – please register today!

Cruel it is for sure Hospitals do not seem to take any responsibility for their patients well being. To me well being also means when you leave the hospital you do not have overwhelming medical bills ,especially when the primary reason is hospital policy not incorporating the patient in their decision making. In addition I have also seen this as merely incompetance of the staff at the time of admission
Money seems to rule everywhere
I did hear one solution for care during your senior years
There was a older lady who continued to take cruises on Prinecess cruise line After the staff on the boat began to notice her regular attendance on whatever cruise they where taking they finally asked her Did she like cruises that much or what was going on She responded with well after checking into living on my own with the costs of food transportation utilities I decided I would be better off on cruise ship Think of the cost and what you get for about $800 you can cruise 8-10 days Your food is taken care of If you are hurt or I'll their is a Dr on board at no additional cost to see you
You have assistance with every part of your life without additional costs So if I where to spend let's say $3200 for a months worth of cruising I am totally cared for, get to see new places, experience new people , Pay no utility bills or wifi costs or transportation costs It is really a good deal She also pointed out that when you go on the same cruise line time after time the costs get less and less
She shared that within the last month it only cost her about $2000 to cruise the whole month
Compare that to living expenses 1000$ min rent $200min electric gas 100$ wifi emergency medical costs from 100$- 10000$ dollars and food which would be a min of $600 per month You can live poor and struggle or cruise along and enjoy your old age Sounds go to me
